Let’s talk about pay
Here are some of the people who have sent messages discouraging the formation of a union or expressed their disapproval of the movement. Here was their pay for the 2021-2022 school year, the last year for which data was available:
Paul Hogle, President and CEO: $464,122 plus $70,059 in related compensation for a total of $534,181. This was a raise of 26.3% over the previous year.
Eric Bower, former Senior Vice President and Assistant Treasurer: in the 2021-22 year (before retirement), $276,345 plus $43,249 in related compensation for a total of $319,594. This was a raise of 6.9% over the previous year.
Dean Southern, Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs and Dean of the Institute: $194,521 plus $10,685 in related compensation for a total of $205,206.
All three of these people sit on the Business Model Task Force, a committee designed to remedy the school’s dire financial situation, which will likely include layoffs, a financial situation largely of their own failings.
Many full-time faculty work multiple jobs because of poor salary, suffer serious health issues due to exhaustion, and have not received even a cost-of-living raise in multiple years. A union will fight for the fair wages, benefits, and workload that have been kept from faculty by the greed and ineptitude of the CIM administration.
